The project involves the refurbishment of Island House, a late nineteenth century 4 storey building fronting onto Gaol Road to the east and the river to the west. The building is listed as a protected structure in Galway City Council’s Record of Protected Structures (Ref. no. 3605). Generating approx. 20,000 sq ft of proposed new open plan office accommodation with feature projecting meeting pods incorporated into a new rear glazed wall, will revamp the existing building and introduce natural light deep into the narrow plan form. Delivering much needed high spec office accommodation in the heart of Galway City.
