Mayo Education Centre is a new building type, which provides facilities for continual professional development for the teaching profession. As such, it seeks to provide an inspirational environment for all who enter. Our architectural philosophy was to use all materials in their natural state and to allow natural colour and texture to enhance the volumes created.

Hence, the floor finish is exposed concrete and ceilings are formed from birch plywood. Colour is used only on the north elevation to lead one into the building. Rainwater is collected and discarded from the building by means of a gargoyle to focal water elements.
