Ciaran joined Taylor Architects in 2013 having been conferred with his BArch Honours and M.Arch in the University of Dundee, Scotland.
He has a keen interest in sustainable design and ultra-low energy technologies having held a key role in a Macro Micro Studio project in Dundee Scotland. The design and technologies within this Studio Project continue to be monitored in real-world scenarios over a period of four years, with a view to generating an understanding of the relationship between user behaviour and technical performance. The aim of the project involves regional focused and contextually responsive solutions for off-grid renewable energy buildings. These issues continue to be investigated in order to address challenges that the construction sector currently faces in fulfilling the requirements of the Scottish Government’s Sullivan Report. This build has been the first self-build, fully autonomous passivhaus in the United Kingdom.
Ciarán has incorporated this passion into recent projects while at Taylor Architects which include commercial, educational and residential. He has gained an in depth experience and knowledge with regard to various health protocols such as HTMs, HBN’s, SARI etc. This has been further consolidated while working on numerous health projects including hospitals and primary care centres around Ireland.
